Fighter, Faker, Student, Spy

Seventeen-year-old Reagan Elizabeth Hillis is used to changing identities overnight, lying to every friend she's ever had, and pushing away anyone who gets too close. Trained in mortal combat and weaponry her entire life, Reagan is expected to follow in her parents' footsteps and join the ranks of the most powerful top-secret agency in the world, the Black Angels. Falling in love with the boy next door was never part of the plan.

Now Reagan has to decide: Will she use her incredible talents and lead the dangerous life she was born into, or throw it all away to follow her heart and embrace the normal life she's always wanted? And does she even have a choice at all?

Find out if you are ready to join in the Black Angels in the captivating and emotional page-tuner,  You Don't Know My Name, from debut novelist Kristen Orlando!

Excerpt:
I love Malika and Harper. They make me happy. They really do. But there's something about being with them that makes me feel lonely too. I can never really be myself with them. I Can't really be myself with anybody. It's ingrained in me to lie, to stick to the cover story and blend in no matter what. And I feel guilty about that. Because they think they know me so well. they think because they can finish my sentences they know everything about me. But they only know Reagan MacMillan; the quick-talking, tough girl I created. Sometimes I wonder which parts of my personality are really me and which ones belong to the pretender.

But with Luke, it's different. There's nothing forced or strategic about our friendship. He's gotten to see glimpses of the real Reagan. And that scares the shit out of me. Because I know how quickly it could all be torn away from me. How quickly I could be torn away from him. There's no such thing as happy ending for a girl like me.

"Come on, Reagan" Harper says quietly, glancing over her shoulder to make sure Luke is still out of earshot. "You guys are so cute together. He Broke Up with Hannah months ago. I don't know what you're waiting for. I ca just tel by the way he looks at you he-"

"Harper," I interrupt as her words compress my lungs, making each breath labored and painful. I don't want to hear this. "He doesn't look at me like anything. I don't want to ruin our friendship."
"You know some things are worth ruining," Harper replies, reaching out to touch my arm with her fingertips, her nails painted darker than my gray cardigan. "You can't tell me  you haven't at least thought of starting a relationship with him or maybe-"

"There is no relationship," I cut her off again, pulling my arm away a little faster than I meant to. I snap new gloves onto my hands, pick up the scalpel, and slice into the frog's heart. "Next stomach."
"Next stomach?" Harper repeats, scrunching her forehead.
"Next subject."

Swindled

"Aren't you going to cuff me?"

She didn't have anything to hold him, but still she stopped with one hand on the door.
"No, you're not," he said, drawing nearer. "You don't want anyone to know I made you come without a single touch." Looming over her shoulder, the heat of his large body shot a wave of gooseflesh across hers. "I've never seen such an honest reaction in my life, and that's a treasure too exquisite to share."

Negotiations

"Come under me. We'll work together. You'll like it." He emphasized his last point by grinding his hips against her.

A deep belly laugh rolled out of her mouth and her lips curved high.
"Men. You're either threatened by us or in awe of us. The threatened ones want to control and the awed ones want to watch. You're no different, soldier. You hate that I call the shots at a scene and see an opportunity to change that. Well, I have oodles more training in psych and for negotiations than you, and you won't issue orders to me."
Yes he would and she'd follow them. She'd beg for them.

Red

He nudged her face up from the pillowy seat. "No one's going to hear, but me, and I want to hear everything you have to say about this."

"They're not intelligible words," she panted.
"That works too."

Genre(s): Young Adult, Paranormal, Fantasy, Supernatural and Romance

Blurb:
It has been two years since Violet Eden walked away from the city, her friends, her future and - most importantly - her soulmate, Lincoln. Part angel, part human, Violet is determined to stand by the promises she made to save the one she loves.

Living in the perpetual coldness of a broken soul she survives day to day as a Rogue Grigori in London.

Even worse, she fears that this might all lead back to the night tries hardest to forget. And what was taken without her permission.

Violet is going back to New York...and she knows exactly who is going to be there.

With Phoenix in her dreams and Lincoln in her heart she knows it is only a matter of time before the final choice must be made.

Review:
The past 2 years had taught Violet The past 2 years had taught Violet not to let the everyday hiccups get to her. Sure the additional muscle would hurt, but only in the physical sense, and she could cope with that. Rolling with the punches is necessary when are a Grigori (a human-angel hybrid) a weapon against the ever increasing numbers of exiled angels on earth. For her even more so, since they gave her such a colourful nickname. She is the Keshet, the rainbow. She didn’t ask to be the rainbow but she made her choices and she stands by them.

So she is still trying to figure out exactly what being the rainbow meant, mostly she found that the desire to know conflicted with her continuing need not to think about it all. One thing she did know was that somehow she could create space with the angels. A place unknown where they are able to take form and communicate. Her angel maker (whose name she and everyone else still does not know) said it is a place for new possibilities.

So she quits softball. Drops twenty pounds. And she figures why kiss one guy when she can kiss three? or four. Why limit herself to high school boys when the majorly cute new baseball coach seems especially flirty?

But how far is too far before she loses herself completely?

Review:
Parker Shelton has the perfect life, a life every young teenage could want. She is making her way to becoming the new valedictorian for Hundred Oaks High School, she has made the all-star softball team her junior and sophomore years and she has a lot of friends that you could ever ask for. But then her mother is involved in a scandal that rocks the whole town they live and the consequences of the scandal fall on parker and her family’s shoulders, with her mother nowhere to be seen.

Parker now has this new life, she quit the softball team, she dropped about twenty pounds in muscle and is a nice petit teenager with a flawless figurer, with the way she looks now she figures she can have her pick at guys, why have one when she can have at three or more. But when the new baseball coach is introduced to her, why would she go for high school boys when she can have her turn at a mature adult who is flirty.

This novel was an enjoyable read, it was a sort of quick read but didn’t happen in one sitting. Fans of contemporary novels will like this one. And if you are looking for another character to connect with or another sports-oriented novel to pluck from the shelves at your local book store or Library then Stealing Parker is right up your ally.

Book Blitz: Leaving Me Behind

Publication Date: 24th May 2016
Genre(s): Adult, Contemporary and Romance

Blurb:
He was supposed to be a personal challenge. A Spanish lover – younger and sinfully attractive. A daring, wild experience for one night.

My liberation from my self-oppressed lifestyle was planned out carefully down to the last detail. Everything except . . . HIM.

I didn’t see it coming, not by a long shot. My plan was safe. I was going to quit my job, say goodbye to the restraints of the life I had known, and follow my dreams.
I rented a house halfway across the globe in an exotic Spanish town on the coast. I made some new friends. I reveled in luscious food and a stunning landscape. Most of all I savored my new found freedom. That is until I met HIM.

It was supposed to be a night of lost inhibitions, soon to become a sweet memory. That was my plan.

He had something different in mind.

Excerpt:
“A warm shiver trails from the very top of my arms all the way to my toes as his hands gently move to hold my shoulders. Slowly, they trail down, rising my skin in their wake. My breath is held and everything inside me springs tight when his body presses just enough for mine to absorb his warmth and to feel the firmness that I recently learned is part of him. He brushes my hair over my shoulder with his chin. A tidal wave of heat spirals below my waist once his warm, minty breath hovers closely, and his bristled cheek softly grazes my flushed one.
He halts for a long moment.
“What are you doing?” I croakily breathe.
“Waiting for you to stop me.” His voice is rasp and low and reaches to every single part of my alert body.
My heart and mind speed at a hazardous velocity while I struggle for my next move. The last thing I want is for him to stop. I don’t say a word but blatantly press back against him, resting my head on his drumming chest. It’s less of a spoken consent and more of a silent agreement. Whatever is starting between us is happening nonetheless, with my undeniable blessing.”
